About Us

Polyglot Coaching was founded in 2008 by Inge Dowden. A polyglot is someone who speaks a lot of languages, and Inge is fluent in 6! Originally from Holland, she had always been interested in business and other cultures, so with a degree in International Business, she started as an Export Office Manager in the Netherlands before moving to England where she worked as an Export Sales Manager in an engineering firm for 5 years, achieving year on year growth despite difficult economic conditions.

Following that she worked as an Export Sales Manager for a German engineering company, working from home in England and regularly going to head office in Germany. Her territory was the world and she did business with many large companies, such as Bosch and RS Components, travelling all over Europe, the States and Asia.

After a divorce she decided to take some time off to reassess her life and her priorities. She travelled the world some more, ending up in Mexico where she taught English to underpriviliged Mayan people. This was a great break from everything and just the thing she needed to find out what it was she really wanted to do. She decided to use her international experience, combined with her love and interest for people and different cultures, to start her own business as a business coach.

Inge qualified with distinction from the Coaching Academy, the UK’s number One coach training facility. She trained in Personal, Corporate & Executive and Small Business Coaching and as a protégé student she continues her personal development all the time. She is also a qualified NLP practitioner which means she has the tools to facilitate immediate and effective change where required.
